Albany State Student Athletes Selected as 2022 MBP HBCU All Stars

Two Albany State University (ASU) student-athletes on the Men’s Baseball team; Lavoisier Fisher and Malik Bell, have been selected as 2022 Minority Baseball Prospects (MBP) HBCU All Stars.

“We are proud of the accomplishments of this year’s ASU all-stars. Participation in the HBCU All-Star game is an honor, as it highlights the top-ranked athletes and baseball programs at HBCUs across the U.S.,” said ASU Athletics Director Anthony Duckworth.   

Lavoisier Fisher, a Suwanee, Georgia native, is a senior psychology major and outfielder for the Golden Rams.In the 2022 season, he ended the season with a .384 batting average. He hit 11 home runs, scored 59 runs, and finished the season with 56 runs batted in.

Malik Bell, an Atlanta, Georgia native, is a senior computer science major and infielder for the Golden Rams. During the 2022 season, he finished the season with a .382 batting average. Bell had 52 hits, scored 41 runs, and finished the season with 33 runs batted in.

Their accomplishments were recognized at the 2022 Minority Baseball Prospects (MPB) All Star Game on June 3, at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
