Albany Technical College issued the following announcement on May 10.

Great News!

Practical Nursing Program approved by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)

An official email letter was received on April 22 by Albany Technical College indicating a formal notification of the Practical Nursing program’s accreditation decision granted by the Accreditation Commission for Education In Nursing (ACEN) Board of Commissioners at its meetings in March 2022.

The purpose of the ACEN is to provide specialized accreditation for all levels of nursing education and transition-to-practice programs located in the United States, U.S. Territories, and internationally. Accreditation is a peer-review, self-regulatory process by which non-governmental associations recognize educational institutions or programs that have been found to meet or exceed standards and criteria for educational quality. Accreditation also assists in further improving the institutions or programs as related to resources invested, processes followed, and results achieved. The monitoring of certificate, diploma, and degree offerings is tied closely to state examination and licensing rules and the oversight of preparation for work in the profession.

Congratulations Practical Nurse Program!

It’s a great day to be a Titan!
