The Sylvester Police Department will be continuing our effort of keep our school zones safe for motorists and students. Our Back to School traffic safety campaign is designed to educate motorists, parents, and students regarding accident prevention and safe pedestrian movement through school zones. Back to School Traffic Campaign will begin on Monday January 9th, 2023 and continue through January 16th, 2023. Additional traffic enforcement efforts will remain in place throughout the 2023 school year. 

Students returned to school this week so please:

•Slow down and obey all traffic laws and speed limits

•Aleays stop for a school bus that has stopped to load/unload children

•Be alert and ready to stop. Watch for children, especially where there are no sidewalks. 

•Watch for kids being gathered at bus stops while waiting on the school bus.
