CITY OF NEWTON: BOC agrees to contract with Interim County Manager

City of Newton issued the following announcement on Mar. 2. 

The Newton County Board of Commissioners approved the contract of Interim County Manager Jarvis Sims Tuesday, March 1.

The contract was approved 3-2 during the Board of Commissioners (BOC) first Regular Meeting of March.

Sims began his time as Newton County Interim Manager Monday, March 7. He previously served as Deputy Administrator of the city of Augusta. Sims, and earned his Master’s at Mercer University and Bachelor’s at Georgia State was offered a contract by the BOC on Feb. 21.

Newton County began its search for an Interim County Manager in November.
