City of Newton issued the following announcement on Dec. 28.
The Newton County Trash Collection Convenience Centers will be closed on Friday, Dec. 31 and Saturday, Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year’s holiday. The centers will open on Monday, Jan.. 3 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. to accommodate the need from the New Year’s weekend, despite it being a County Holiday
The Newton County landfill will be open Friday, Dec. 31 from 8 a.m. until noon. The landfill will be closed all day Saturday, Jan. 1 and reopen Monday, Jan 3 from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
