Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (GA-02) announced that two of his community project funding requests have been included in the Fiscal Year 2023 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies subcommittee bill which was approved by the subcommittee last week. This bill now goes to the full House Appropriations Committee for approval.

“These projects will ensure that our waste and water infrastructure is up to the standards necessary to keep our environment clean, prevent interruptions from extreme weather, and provide access to safe drinking water,” said Congressman Bishop. “These improvements will also help to facilitate economic development by attracting new businesses to the area and protect our community from pollutants.”

The clean water infrastructure projects will help the city of Colquitt as well as the city of Leesburg. The Leesburg project funds will support the installation of a pump station and other clean water infrastructure improvements that, among other things, will be part of the development of a recreational complex.
