FOIA Request to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Regarding Chinese National Students on June 4, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Our request seeks detailed information about the presence and support of Chinese National students at the college. Specifically, we are asking for documents or lists that identify all current students who are Chinese Nationals, including their department of study. If privacy concerns arise, we have requested that the total number of such students be provided, broken down by department.

Additionally, we are seeking records detailing any scholarships awarded to these students, including the amount and source of each scholarship. We have also asked for clarification on any scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council.

Moreover, our request includes a call for any policies or procedures that outline how the university monitors its students—particularly Chinese Nationals—to safeguard its Intellectual Property and other confidential information.

This request is made in collaboration with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting transparency through the use of Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws. As members of the media, we believe access to these records is crucial for fulfilling our role in holding public institutions accountable and providing essential information to the public.
