FOIA Request to Terrell County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.

In our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Albany Standard have submitted a request under the Georgia Open Records Act § 50.18.70 et seq., for information regarding the candidates running in the upcoming election.

The records requested include the full names of all candidates, the offices they are running for, their jurisdiction of office, and party affiliation. In addition to this, we have also requested contact information for each candidate including their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.

We look forward to receiving this information in order to continue our work in keeping the public informed about local governmental affairs.
