Historic Courthouse to be open during Lighting of the Square

Newton County will be helping spread the Holiday cheer during Thursday’s Lighting of the Square, Nov. 17.

Visitors can receive warm apple cider and cookies outside the Courthouse before coming inside to view the historic building decorated for the Christmas season. The Christmas decorations, located throughout the second and first floors, including the Commissioners’ boardroom, will be up until January. Visitors can also view decorations Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4;30 p.m.

The Historic Courthouse, 1124 Clark Street, Covington, will be open to the public from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the Lighting festivities.
