City of Newton issued the following announcement on July 16.
After County manager Lloyd Kerr went back to work further on the Fiscal Year 2022 Budget, the Newton County Board of Commissioners will meet again to discuss the proposed budget beginning July 20.
A Special Called Meeting will be held Tuesday, July 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Newton County Historic Courthouse, 1124 Clark Street, to for a presentation on the proposed budget. Following that meeting, a public hearing, allowing citizens to speak on the proposed budget, will be held at 6 p.m.
A second public hearing is scheduled for Aug. 3, also at 6 p.m. in the Newton County Historic Courthouse.
