COUNTY OF DOUGHERTY: DCPD Holds Friday Press Conference In Search of Theft Suspects

County of Dougherty issued the following announcement on July 22.

The Dougherty County Police Department (DCPD) Investigative Division will hold a press conference on Friday, July 23, 2021, beginning at 10 a.m. at DCPD headquarters located at 2106 Habersham Road. The purpose of the press conference will be to request the public’s assistance in locating suspects in reference to an ongoing investigation into motor vehicle thefts and entering automobiles in and around the Dougherty County, Worth County, Mitchell County, and Lee County area.

Over the past few months, several tips from the citizens of Dougherty, Lee, Mitchell, and Worth Counties, have led to the discovery of a very active theft ring here in Dougherty County. The following suspects have been identified and warrants have been issued for their arrest with charges including Motor Vehicle Theft, Theft by Receiving, Entering Autos, as well as operating a Chop Shop here in Dougherty County.

This week, during a search warrant on the property of James Glass and Shyanne Kellis, DCPD Detective Division was able to recover several stolen vehicles from Dougherty County and the Albany,

Georgia City Limits. This is an ongoing investigation and DCPD will be taking more charges in the coming weeks on more than a half a dozen additional suspects.

If any information is available, DCPD’s Detective Division is requesting that citizens call 229.430.6600 or 229.436.TIPS (8477). These suspects are considered possibly armed and dangerous.
