City of Newton issued the following announcement on July 28.
To commemorate Newton County’s 200th birthday, the Newton County Bicentennial Committee invites you to leave your legacy for the next 200 years.
You can purchase a commemorative Leave a Legacy Brick to be placed at the newly named Bicentennial Park in downtown Covington today. For $75, you can place up to 25 characters such as a name, phrase or title of a business or organization. The purchase of a brick will go toward funding bicentennial celebration activities and marking your place in history.
The bricks will be placed in the park, formerly called the Rotary Park, in between the Newton County Administration and Public Defender buildings, between Pace and Elm Streets, just off Usher Street in Covington.
You can purchase your brick or multiple bricks here.
