City of Newton issued the following announcement on Oct. 21.
Newton County is beginning to create its Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan with the first step coming from the public.
The County is hosting a series of public meetings, seeking input from residents on what recreational activities and facilities are wanted by the public. There is a meeting in each of the County’s five commission districts. The meetings are drop-in from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the following locations:
Oct. 18 – District 1 Mansfield Community Center, 3158 Hwy. 11 South, Mansfield, Ga, 30055
Oct. 21 – District 5 Turner Lake Park, 6185 Turner Lake Road, Covington, Ga, 30014
Oct. 26 – District 4 Turner Lake Park, 6185 Turner Lake Road, Covington, Ga, 30014
Oct. 27 – District 3 Newton County Sheriff’s Office Westside Precinct, 3612 Salem Road, Covington, Ga, 30016
Oct. 28 – District 2 Porter Memorial Library, 6191 Hwy 212, Covington, Ga 30016
