County of Newton issued the following announcement on Apr. 11.
Unseasonable temperatures in the low 40s didn't cool off the fun for the Newton County Recreation Department's Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, Arpil 9.
The event drew hundreds of children to City Pond Park to find more than 3,000 eggs spread on the baseball field.
Prior to the mad dash to find the eggs, children enjoyed face painting, games, bubbles, snacks and a visit with the Easter Bunny.
