Newton County’s proposed 2022 millage rate is 9.454

Newton County Board of Commissioners will vote on the approval of a millage rate of 9.454 during its Regular Meeting on July 19.

The vote will take place during the meeting which begins at 7 p.m. in the Newton County Historic Courthouse, 1124 Clark Street, Covington Ga.

The millage rate is a decrease from the previous year’s rate of 11.145. The new tax levy will help fund the County’s recently approved Fiscal Year 2023 Budget.

The Board of Commissioners adopted a budget of $83,015,574 on June 28.
