Karen Elizabeth Timmerman is a native of Terrell County and a professional artist that has been dressing up downtown Dawson by painting shop windows for the Christmas season with adorable festive artwork. The results have been met with such positive praise and lifted the holiday spirits of our community. We certainly hope this will become a seasonal tradition to beautify downtown Dawson.

Growing up it was her passion to become a good wife and mother and artist. She has been married to Tommy Timmerman for 32 years, has two grown sons and one grandson. She has enjoyed teaching art to students for over 25 years. Now finally, she is fulfilling one more goal owning and operating her own art studio, producing commercial artworks, selling her artwork which range in mediums from acrylic and watercolor to chalk, oil, pastels, pencil works, floral arrangements and large mural paintings.  Colors by KT can be found at the Art Saloon on Lee Street in Dawson, on Facebook. They will soon have a webpage for booking your painting parties and art lessons as well as purchasing original works, prayer cards, door décor and more.Karen said, “I would like to thank Dawson for being so supportive and welcoming to this small town girl. I am so blessed to be able to pour out my art and have it accepted and appreciated by so many. It will be an honor to share my love of art and the Lord with this community. Bring your children (or inner child) and let them paint!”

The Art Saloon is located at 167 East Lee Street, Dawson, GA 39842. 229-894-2992
