Dougherty County’s 15 coaches earned an average salary of $38,622 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 19th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Georgia post-secondary schools during 2022.

Dougherty County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Albany State University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $47,758.

Male coaches of men's teams received $58,911 on average in Dougherty County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $32,222.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
