Austin Scott discusses Georgia's initiatives, FBI achievements, and Veterans Affairs leadership

Austin Scott, a U.S. Congressman representing Georgia's 8th District since 2011, has been actively discussing various initiatives and events through his tweets. Born in Augusta, Georgia in 1969, Scott replaced Jim Marshall in Congress in 2011, following his tenure in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1996. He is a University of Georgia alumnus and resides in Tifton.

On March 26, 2025, Scott reiterated the bipartisan efforts to establish the Ocmulgee Mounds as Georgia's first National Park and Preserve. Working alongside Sanford Bishop and Senators Ossoff and Warnock, Scott is pushing the reintroduction of the Ocmulgee Mounds National Park and Preserve initiative. "Establishing the Ocmulgee Mounds and surrounding areas as Georgia's first National Park and Preserve remains a top bipartisan initiative this Congress," he tweeted.

In another tweet on March 27, 2025, Scott conveyed his discussion with FBI Director Kash Patel during a House Intelligence Committee hearing. Scott lauded Patel's leadership following the successful apprehension of three individuals from the FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted list, commenting, ".@FBIDirectorKash shared with me during @HouseIntel's open hearing that recently, the FBI successfully apprehended three individuals from the FBI Top 10 Most Wanted list under his leadership."

Scott shared on March 28, 2025, his attendance at the swearing-in of Doug, the new Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Scott expressed his confidence in Doug's leadership in improving veterans' care and reducing inefficiencies, stating, "It was an honor to attend @SecVetAffairs swearing-in this week! Doug has been my friend for over 20 years and is one of the finest people I have ever met."
