Sumter County Middle School issued the following announcement on May 12.

Sumter County Middle School (SCMS) Agriculture students and Future Farmers of America (FFA) members, taught and sponsored by Mr. Brinson Brock, were recently invited by local Tractor Supply Management to host a learning experience for beginning gardeners at the Americus location. Shoppers were greeted by SCMS students. They gave shoppers containers, soil, and seeds provided by the store and helped them plant and understand the requirements for seed germination. Store Managers Frank White and Ashley Holland invited Mr. Brinson Brock’s Agriculture Classes to the event to recognize their contribution to community service.
