Born in Albany, Georgia on September 20, 1990.

Phillip LaDon Phillips Jr. was born in Albany, Georgia, on September 20, 1990. He gained national attention after winning the eleventh season of American Idol in 2012. His coronation song, “Home,” became the best-selling song of its kind in the show’s history. Phillips’ debut album, The World from the Side of the Moon, charted on the Billboard Top 200 for over a year. He followed up with additional albums, including Behind the Light and Collateral, and toured with artists like John Mayer and the Goo Goo Dolls. He has sold millions of singles and earned numerous accolades for his work. Before his success, Phillips lived in Albany and Leesburg, Georgia, and was active in the local music scene, including winning the Albany Star competition in 2010. He later returned to his hometown for personal events, including his wedding in 2015.
