GARETT MIDDLE SCHOOL: Governor to Fund Classroom Grants for Cobb Educators

Nonprofit funding

Garrett Middle School issued the following announcement on Jan. 10.

Governor Brian P. Kemp’s recent announcement regarding the second installment of the Governors Emergency Education Relief Fund (GEER II), allocates funds to benefit Cobb educators in the form of classroom grants.

Governor Kemp will provide all K-12 teachers and paraprofessionals with $125 to be used for classroom expenses. The Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) will also be prepared to leverage federal funds for birth-to-age-5 teachers and paraprofessionals to complement this decision.

Cobb teachers will be able to use the classroom grants to add new books to their classroom library, buy classroom supplies like whiteboard markers, crayons, colored pencils, STEM tools, Post-it notes, and more.
