SUMTER COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL: Sumter County Middle School Empowering Students Through Research and Collaboration

School library

Sumter County Middle School issued the following announcement on Feb. 14.

Sumter County Middle School students in Ms. Pamela Harvey's Computer Science class researched influential African Americans in honor of Black History Month. "My students worked collaboratively to curate physical and online resources as they developed their own creative, individual project with awareness and respect for the fair use of those resources," stated Harvey. "At Sumter County Middle School, we are empowering our students as learners. By teaching them to use technology resources efficiently and safely, we empower them to be more self-directed and self-regulated learners."
