AP Courses and Exam Registration

Exam

We would like to take this opportunity to communicate some very important changes initiated by College Board with regards to AP courses and exam registration. In the past weeks, students registered for the online system College Board created called AP Classroom. Students were provided a “Join Code” in association with each AP class they are enrolled this semester and instructions from their AP teachers and Mr. Joseph. Students will need to use this College Board account throughout the year to complete assignments and register for exams. It is imperative that students know their username and password.

Also, this year, College Board has changed the registration deadlines for exams and the cancellation fee structure. Students will register for exams through their new College Board account. Teachers will guide them through this process in class. South Cobb High School will continue to use Total Registration to organize and collect fees, therefore students will continue to pay for exams using this website. Payments for Spring Semester exams can be made through Total Registration January 31st through March 8th. Please note:

Fall Semester exams will be ordered on March 10th.

One-time (non-refundable) registration fee of $15 (paid by all students taking an AP Exam)

Free and reduce lunch students, who have submitted their signed wavier prior to March 1st are required to pay a deposit of $40, to be refunded once the students complete all their AP exams. If a student cancels more than one exam, then they will be billed $40 for each exam they cancel.

All other students will need to pay a $40 deposit for each exam that they register to take. This $40 will go towards payment of their exams. If the student cancels the exam after March 10th, they will forfeit their deposit for each exam they cancel.

To have your exam ordered, you must have registered for the exam on the College Board site as well as made the registration and exam deposit in Total Registration.

To use Total Registration, begin the process by registering at www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/110305. Here you will indicate both the AP courses you are taking this year and the exams you wish to take. You will receive your join codes and directions to complete the second required step. Any exam fees will be paid online so be sure to have a debit card or credit card available before beginning registration. Paying online is a great way to make sure that payment has been made while avoiding mailing payment. PLEASE NOTE: Special Waiver must be approved before you can make a payment.

Students can make payment through Total Registration using the link found on the school website under Menu à Curricular à Advanced Placement. Students will need to know their teacher, period, and “Join Code” for each class when making payment.

Students will need to join their AP class and register for exams online through College Board, and they will need to pay for exams online using Total Registration. Thank you in advance for being flexible and patient as we all navigate these changes initiated by College Board.
