Albany State University (ASU) will honor over 950 students' academic achievements at the 2023 Honors Day Ceremony. The event will occur on Thursday, March 16, at 10 a.m. in the west campus arena. Thirty-eight of the students being honored have a 4.0 GPA.
The Honorable Judge Victoria S. Darrisaw, from the Dougherty County Superior Court, will be the guest speaker. Judge Darrisaw has served as a judge in Georgia since 2012. In 2018, then Governor Nathan Deal appointed her to the Dougherty County Superior Court. She holds an undergraduate degree from Spelman College and her Juris Doctorate degree from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. For a full biography, click here.
Honors Day serves to recognize and honor undergraduate students from all disciplines. The students have demonstrated excellence in academic coursework and research, which reflects the theme: “Honoring Excellence in Academic Achievement.”
The university invites the community to attend the event. The ceremony will also be available to watch live on the ASU YouTube Channel.
